Turing Award Winner and Chief Scientist of Cryptic Labs Whitfield Diffie visited PCL

On April 12, 2019, Whitfield Diffie, the Turing award winner and chief scientist of Cryptic Labs, visited PCL to enhance mutual understanding and explore potential areas for collaboration. The Lab leader introduced the mission, organizational chart, co-construction and cooperation status of PCL to Prof. Diffie and his colleagues at Whitfield, focusing on the five research centers as well as the exploration models of frontier research labs. Prof. Difie introduced the organizational structure and operation of Cryptic Labs, which focused on network security research and blockchain technology. Cryptic Labs has great cooperation potentiality with PCL in various disciplines of information. The two sides also exchanged views on the development modes and relevant aspects of the building the national lab, as well as their understanding of the functions, positioning, mission and other aspects of the national lab.
Prof. Difie expressed the hope that in the future, the Cryptic Labs and PCL could establish international cooperation in related fields.
