PCL Signs Strategic Cooperation with CityU

July 15 witnessed the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between PCL and City University of Hong Kong (CityU), establishing the strategic partnership based on the principle of resource sharing, complementary advantages and long-term cooperation.
At the signing ceremony, Director Wen Gao of PCL stressed that this cooperation is a great opportunity to integrate the resources of the two parties. Guided by the “Outline Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, with serving the Greater Bay Area (GBA) as its aim, this cooperation will bring new prospects for basic research, personnel training and mutual development to solve the basic and strategic theoretical issues and meet the needs of national and social development. It is an important step forward to implement the development strategy and to enhance the basic and applied basic research in the GBA.
Jian Lu, Vice President (Research Technology) of CityU, stated that CityU has been committed to higher education and advanced research. With their strong research power in major interdisciplinary projects, and their focus on diversified cooperation and exchanges at home and abroad, this cooperation will fully leverage the mutual resource advantages. The two sides shall work together to pursue the forward-looking scientific research goals and continuously meet the needs for introducing talents and optimizing resource in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
After the signing ceremony, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the development of future network and underwater robots in the GBA. PCL and CityU will then carry out practical cooperation in the related fields.
