PCL Signs Strategic Cooperation with Tongji University

PCL and Tongji University signed the strategic cooperation on July 28. The cooperation aims at building PCL’s a world-leading research institution through the innovative collaboration mechanism of PCL by taking advantage of research capabilities and international influence of the Tongji University.

President Jie Chen of the Tongji University stressed that it is the embodiment of national strategy that PCL supports the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The consistency of the aspirations of both institutions lays a strong foundation for cooperation. This cooperation will make the best use of the academic advantage of Tongji and research strength of PCL to build a collaboration model in Southeastern China. Vise president Xianglin Gu of Tongji University elaborates on the objectives, comprehensive strength, talent cultivation, faculty resources, research and international cooperation of the university.

As one of the provincial labs, PCL takes on the mission of reform and opening-up, with serving the Greater Bay Area as its objectives. A cooperation agreement on personnel training is signed upon the strategic cooperation, which will foster a new mechanism for joint training of academic talents between scientific research institution and university.

This cooperation represents the focus on national strategy of science and technology development, the determination to explore the operating mechanism of innovative scientific research for both Tongji University and PCL. The two parties expressed a strong expectation and confidence for fruitful cooperation.
